Maribella Samson to Penelope Torres in Awkward[]
Maribella Samson was a member of the Art Club at Berrybrook Middle School. She's assertive, optimistic, brave, and stands up for what she believes in with a bold heart, and has great leadership skills. She's made an appearance in Awkward, but later, she had to move away due to the divorce of her parents -- yet in the later installment Diary, life at her new school is shown. Her father may appear charming and successful at first, but he's genuinely scary to Maribella. He always wants her to be "the champion", and he casually called his wife a curse word.
In Awkward, run by panic, Maribella stole a very important plane remote from the Science Club and gave it to Penelope Torres, and said she'd take it back first thing tomorrow. That afternoon, Mrs. and Mr. Samson had a huge fight, as she’d “never heard them yell like that”. Mrs. Samson and Maribella went in a car with bags packed, so Maribella couldn't come to school.
In Diary, Maribella moves to a small, old town in New England and attempts to make new friends- she succeeds with Wrath and Hedge.

Appearance[]
Maribella has red hair made into two buns with amber eyes. She has glasses and freckles above her nose and on her cheeks. She often wears long-sleeved shirts that are sometimes under light sweaters or jackets.
Personality[]
She is very outgoing, with strong leadership skills and an optimistic view, even in the worst situations. However, after moving to New England, she is not prepared to start over, leading to her being shyer and more nervous.
